Magnum Bolt Buster II Drill Rig

The Magnum Bolt Buster II is a specialized drill rig designed to cut the locking bolts on Class 6 legal or letter sized GSA approved file cabinets.  It is designed to take a high torque drill motor needed to cut these hardened bolts out of the technician’s hand and incorporate it into the drill rig.  The technician can operate the trigger on the drill motor remotely with one hand while turning the feed handle with the other, making this drill rig the safest and fastest on the market for this type of work.

The drill rig is built to absorb the pressure and torque that is needed to cut the hardened bolts on Class 5 and 6 file cabinets.  No drill rig has ever been produced that is robust enough to cut the bolts on a Class 5 file cabinet with a carbide tipped hole saw - until now.

The Bolt Buster II is encapsulated with clear acrylic to catch any hot debris and smoke created as the locking bolts are cut.  The clear acrylic sides let the technician view the cutting process and can be removed if needed. This should eliminate the need for burn permits that are required in some instances.

This is an approved method of opening a GSA approved file cabinet.  It is also the most cost effective method, since it does not damage the combination lock, which costs more than the drawer head itself.  Once opened, you can reuse the lock, or in the case of a malfunction the lock can be returned to the manufacturer for failure analysis.
