MBA Emergency Dial Kit

This set of emergency dials gives the technician an easy way to operate the spindle on a mechanical safe lock that has had its dial removed. Each has a set screw that can be gently tightened onto the spindle once the dial is in place to provide additional grip.

Note: please use care not to overtighten the set screws, or they will strip out the plastic threads. In case the threads become stripped, a second hole is provided in each emergency dial.

For LA GARD style spindles, the gray dial should slot onto the spline in the spindle to align the dial numbers to the same approximate position as the original dial. The set screw can then be tightened to secure the dial.

For S&G style spindles, the black dial's spline should slot into the spline keyway in the spindle to align the dial numbers to the same approximate position as the original dial. The set screw can then be tightened to secure the dial, though our testing shows that this is usually not necessary for normal operation.

For other spindles, or when the spindle's spline or keyway is too damaged to be used, the blue dial (or the gray dial) can be used and simply secured using the provided set screw.
