RESET DEVICE FOR S&G 2740B

If a Sargent & Greenleaf Model 2740B's low battery warning signal is ignored for approximately one hundred openings, the lock will go into a "Lock Open Latch" condition. This prevents the lock from locking, but can be reset using a "444 Device" and a 9-volt battery.

To reset the Lock Open Latch condition, attach a fresh 9-volt battery (not included) to a Sargent & Greenleaf 444 Device, then plug the device's connector into the lock's change key port on the outside of the cover. As soon as the device is plugged into the cover, the lock motor will run briefly to reset the Lock Open Latch condition. Unplug the 444 Device, and turn the dial to extend the lock bolt to be able to remove the cover and replace the batteries.
