SafeLogic XTREME Swing Bolt Lock Package w/ Chrome Keypad, EMP Proof, RH Mounting

Easy to install and program customer loved them.

MBA USA had fast shipping and great customer service. Overall, I am happy with the Safelogic Xtreme. The installation was straightforward. However, the written instructions that came with the lock were wrong. Luckily, Securam has plenty of videos that show the correct install methods. The lock and keypad are metal and have a quality feel. Both the installation video and the code changing video were very helpful - the written instructions to change the codes is wrong. There is no dial light above the combo lock - according to MBA USA the design was changed and there is no longer a light. It would have been nice to know that - the combo is very difficult to see without a light.

MBA is a great company to deal with. The SafeLogic Xtreme lock and keypad are constructed of heavy metal and have a quality fit, finish, and feel. Installation was fairly straightforward with minor discrepancies between the video instruction and the printed instructions. Both the installation video and the code changing video were very helpful. If you are mechanically inclined you should have few issues with following along and adapting to differences in your particular safe.
Negatives experienced:
1. The dial light on the model that I received is either non existent or not working. 2.The plastic spindle tube which must be cut to length to protect the spindle from damaging the keypad wire is of brittle plastic material and split from end to end when cutting to length with shears as shown in the video. 3. It was not real clear in the video that the spindle does not slide easily into the dial ring and that it may required some slight "jiggling" of the dial ring to line it up properly and allow it to slide in. 4. It is possible to over tighten the spindle screw drawing the spindle shaft in from the lock bodyand binding the spin dial (the shaft should be flush with the lock body) 5. The written instructions came with an insert discussing a "manager code" in addition to the "user code"...it was not clear at first that this feature is not available on the model that I received causing several failed attempts to program a new "manager code". Closer attention on my part to the wording made that clear however.

Overall I am pleased with the product and will contact MBA with regards to the dial light failure.

great product all metal construction, easy to install, only 1 small problem the dial light doesn't work i'm sure they will take care of that.

The people at MBA USA are great to deal with and very friendly. Received in three days. Lock installed very easily with only change relocating the holes in the re-locker plate. Install took a total of about 45min.

The difficulties with the install were due to the safe I have. I had to open the hole somewhat for the spindle, drill the re-locker plate, and completely reset the mechanical combination ,as apparently the lock body is all set to open on the last number, which wasn't clear. If you screw around with alignment to get smooth turning of the dial, you have probably messed up the orientation. I had to use the enclosed reset key and google instructions that were more helpful. The printed instructions were not the same as the Securam video, which is strange. Seems to work fine. I like having a backup method to the electronic lock. I also added red paint to the dial indicator to make more visible. My lock was chrome.

This is a spendid executed design and construction of a dual lock. The way they have blended and concealed the mechanical dial behind the electronic keypad is ingenius. The keypad / dial both looks very solid and also have a heafty feel to it. This is metal, not plastics, and you can see as well as feel the heft both by touch and weight when mounting the dial or operating the manual dail. Details as magnets holding the dial in place before you secure it by the provided screw seems almost extravagant. The front of the keypad is actually flat, although the pictures gives the impression of a curved surface :-)

The mechanical dial has generous spacing and clear markings, making it easy to read for an older mans failing eyesight. Very good. In my installation the dial turns easily and it is very accurate as to the dial settings.

Which brings me to the negative sides with this otherwise splendid High Security UL 1 / VdS 2 / EN 1300 klasse B rated electronic lock. Thing is; the mechanical lock turns out to be an unrated/unlisted 3 wheel lock. Obviously, any dual lock will be no more safe than the weakest of the two locks provided, and this particular lock - although rated UL1 for the electronic part - cannot be used on a UL rated container without the container loosing the UL rating, as the mechanical part of the lock is not certified by any proofing entity at all. E.g in order to be used on my UL 15 rated container, the mechanical lock would at least need to be UL rated Group 2M. Most commonly 2M rated locks are 4 wheel locks, and I would like to see Securam get their mechanical lock tested and approved so that the mechanical part also can qualify for use with an UL 15 container.

Ordered on a Wednesday delivered that Friday. I installed it that afternoon. MBA staff was very helpful. I got the Brass version and am very happy with the look and finish.

I purchased after my digital lock on my safe died (fortunately in the open position). I decided it was best to have a dial as a back up option in case something happened again. This was simple to install and operate, everything I was looking for. There is a video on YouTube showing the steps for installing this particular lock, I would highly recommend watching that before doing the install. If you do, you shouldn't have any troubles.

We enjoy the quality and functionality of this product. It can be installed by any safe technician. We recommend mechanical solutions with manipulation resistance on TL rated containers but the SafeLogic Extreme is a perfect choice for those that want Electronic convenience with mechanical reliability.

First and foremost, where you purchase a product these days is almost if not as important as the product you are purchasing. In other words, will the seller provide good customer support or are you left holding the bag. Put simply, the folks at MBA are top notch in my book, 5 stars for that alone.

As for the lock, I love it. Given the easy of use with a digital keypad and the backup reassurance of a traditional mechanical lock it's a wonderful piece of mind when locking up my valuables. The installation took a little longer than I expected, but I'm a cautious do-it-yourself kind of person, and I really didn't want to screw this up. I also ran into an issue where the installation video made reference to two brass mounting screws, but the package contained 4 zinc plated mounting screws, and the screws were metric, and my mounting holes were not. So that required a quick trip to Home Depot. Then my re-locker plate was considerably different than the one in the video, so that required a little ingenuity and another trip to Home Depot. The important thing to keep in mind as you are replacing an old lock, is that this is a new lock, and you may need to make some minor accommodations.
