Description

This Sargent & Greenleaf mechanical combination lock package includes a model 6730 lock body, a D300 dial, and a R211 dial ring. The black and white dial is front reading with a spindle length to accommodate doors up to 3-1/2” thick. The Model 6730 is the venerable standard of the industry for mechanical safe locks. This UL 768 Group 2 listed lock features a brass lever and three brass and aluminum combination wheels. Includes spline key, change key and mounting hardware.

    I was having trouble at first installing my lock. I called Jeremy and he explained what my issue could be. I was directed to talk to Phil. Phil did not cut any corners. Listen and follow what he wants you to do. My lock works every time after our conversation . I'm confident my safe will open.

    Great service from Dan and Phil because the instructions from Sargent & Greenleaf were not complete in my opinion. However Dan and Phil patiently walked me through the finish. These guys are great! Thanks

    Good instructions easy to do install. My first time and it was easy to do. Replaced a York lock mechanism which entailed making a spacer plate and drilling for smaller bolt pattern, added longer bolt and worked perfect.

    Used this for the Bighorn 19ECB. Ready for the EMP. Don't get caught with an electric lock on your safe or it will be bricked.

    SG Mechanical Lock

    Ordered Black dial, got a gold dial (sigh). Bought this to replace a 40 year old SG safe lock. The replacement was identical and installed with out a problem. Lock works great and hopefully will last another 40 years.

    S&G 6700 replacement

    MBA service and shipping, 5 stars. Lock itself only 4 and only because the lock case is larger than the old lock and I have an interference problem. Old S&G lock was about 30 yrs old and starting to slip the combination. The old lock case was about 1/16" smaller and I have a hunk of hardplate to deal with to install. Just be aware if you're replacing an old lock that they've beefed up the case.

    Somewhat Noisy

    Operates as it should. Appears very solid, but was a little disappointed after install that it has more of a noisy operation than I expected.

    Dial spindle

    The spindle is bowed causing uneven torque needed to turn the dial. I can't sell this to my customers... MBA USA Response: We reached out to the customer trying to verify if the dial was in alignment. If the spindle is actually bowed then we will send a replacement.     Great Replacement Lock Set

    Replacing an old lock that had the combo slip and had a gritty feel. Installation went well. Needed to file the lock bolt bracket as the bolt initially bound. Of course I did not check that first so had to remove and remount. Overall the video was very helpful. Combination set was easy just like the directions / video.
